The Ottawa SPIN (Software Process Improvement Network) is a forum for the free and open exchange of software process improvement expertise, experiences and ideas. Our objective is to promote process improvement, increased process maturity and high quality software-based products in the Ottawa region, through an active program of networking, presentations, publications/discussion groups, as well as liaison with other similar groups.

The Ottawa SPIN provides two major benefits:

• The opportunity to network with peers in other organizations to share ideas and experiences. The SPIN brings together four groups of people for mutual benefit: organizations improving their processes, consultants and organizations that provide process-related services and products, academic researchers, and relevant government agencies.
• Shared training and costs: The SPIN organizes events on topics of mutual interest, including seminars on new tools or techniques. Costs for external expertise are kept low by sharing them amongst SPIN members.
